TORA VLN series
I was wondering whether anyone would be interested in a VLN series if i were to host it?
it would be 3 races, 2 hours each (1 hour stint for 2 drivers). each stint would be 1 hr with 15 minutes at the end for gathering distances as you wouldn't need to wait for double stinters as each driver needs to drive 1hr each.
the three races would be a (in order) Nurburgring GP short, Nurburgring GP long and finishing with the Nordschleife.
I was thinking April or June (June problem being Le Mans)
there would be 3 classes- SP1 (GT), SP2 (PGT), SP3 (TCC) but I may cut it back to two if there isn't much interest.
mandatory pit stop in each stint for some strategy
15 minute qualifying for both GP layouts, 30 minutes for Nord
depending if there are multiple lobbies, may have a safety car for 3 or more cars crashed (after lap 2) but still debating that
so, thoughts?

Re: TORA VLN series
If you did struggle to get numbers you could always just do it as a one off race.

Re: TORA VLN series
so skip the GP short and nord and do maybe a longer race at the full GPFlyin Mikey J wrote:I would rather see one enduro at Nurb GP...
could do that never get enduro's there unless it's ISCC
Re: TORA VLN series
^ Then again, I am a hater of the Nordschlieffe.
It never fails... a public or private race lobby will be going great. Whenever the host asks "Any requests?" people say "Nordschlieffe!!!" then when they select Nordschlieffe, the lobby clears out halfway through a lap. This leads me to think that people pretend to like the track, to look cool or skilled or whatever, but in all reality, the track puts on some lame races.

Re: TORA VLN series
haha, makes sense though, if there was like idk 32 man grid, it'd be fine, twice as many cars on track, but 12 on a 13 mile track...
Re: TORA VLN series
ok so season is decided:
4 hour race at GP track (2 x 2 hrs)
2 hour event at Nordschleife (2 x 1 hrs)
cars are basically Euro GT, with 10% handicap, BMW and SLS are stock power with tyre widths, SRT Viper and old (#80) Porsche stock engine 5% handicap
also added are BMW M3 GTR, #80 Porsche RSR and Panoz Esprante
then PGT will run with a 10% handicap (stop them from passing GT cars)
TCC to run with no handicap
each class is around 5 seconds faster than the class after it (so GT 5 seconds over PGT, PGT 5 seconds over TCC)

Re: TORA VLN series
ok, so updated the thread in the community event section:
http://forums.theonlineracingassociation.com/t12573-tora-tcr-vln-2014#281228
and with all 3 classes put together, there's
14 SP1 cars
31 SP2 cars
28 SP3 cars
so 76 cars to chose from in total, talk about variety

Be patient please... I just got on Staff 20 hours ago. Before long, we'll get you the green light on this.
In the meantime, we'd have to work out a schedule around TASCAR I guess.

Re: TORA VLN series
I'll try to rush this through the process...
... can this be ready within two and a half weeks? I'm thinking Friday, the week before Pro Cup, two weeks after NAFFCar, for the first round, then do the week between Utes and Skylines, then the finale after the Skylines.
Start at 9PM BST/4PM Eastern/1PM Pacific... which is an hour later than usual Fridays, to make sure you can be awake with time to spare.
