Re: NAFFCAR
Paul and I are going with the 1994 Civic as it is REALLY on the light side, and he wanted to go for minimum weight.

Over 20 registered series entries, 16 In as of this post, and some good interest in this series. Lots of different cars being used too. All the makings of some fun racing.

I thought I had a shot at some podiums, until Tubbi, Wingnut and Cheeky jumped in.

I thought I had a chance of some podiums until I saw what Cowboy was hitting around Sunset.

Re: NAFFCAR
Seems that Sunset is the weakest track for the Civic. I'm going with 4.9 Speed, 5.0 Handling, and about 6.0 Acceleration. I will send the Sunset tunes over to you Paul next time I am on XBL, one is light, the other heavy (if 2300 Lbs is "heavy")

Re: NAFFCAR
hehehe. 1:48.8 at Sunset with a split for 48.5. And best of all, the car is easy to drive.

Re: NAFFCAR
I can send you my Mazda setup which I managed to get 1:50.8 with. As I recall that car was also very easy to drive.
I found with the setup I now use on the Celica I gave some of it's speed up for handling, which is paying off. It's not the best at anything. 190 hp and 2650lbs!! I get up to 134mph just before braking on the oval.

Re: NAFFCAR
1:48s? Impressive.
I am finally hitting the lower half of 1:49s. Took about five Sunset specific builds to get there, but the newest lightweight build seems to have the most potential. I had to throw out the race suspension, race ARBs, tire upgrades, and put in the stock trans to get what I was looking for: 2101 Lbs and some horsepower.

Re: NAFFCAR
Wheel users will have a advantage round sunset so if your on a wheel make the most of it.
Re: NAFFCAR
Oh yeah! :DTweaked the tune a bit and found another second! 47.8 :DIt was a lap where almost everything came together. Maybe lost 1 or 2 tenths in the last two corners. I can string together mid 48's. I will be aiming for a mid 48 during quali.
The standing start is going to be where the Celica loses. Getting up to 100mph takes approx 2 seconds more than other cars.

Re: NAFFCAR
I went for grip and a little power at 2080 odd lbs. Only hitting 50s so I have no idea if Ive got the build rules wrong lol
Re: NAFFCAR
The cars have to be at least 2100lbs so you're slightly underweight with that build.

Re: NAFFCAR
I'm struggling to get into the 49s now, think I've forgotten how to drive around sunset since I last practiced.

Re: NAFFCAR
First of all my apologies to Erebus. I completely misjudged the braking point and could not avoid you anymore. Completely my mistake. Was good to hear the rest of the lobby found it amusing two teammates taking each other out...
Also an apology to Mikey on the last lap. I don't know what I was thinking when I decided to go for the move before that chicane. I think I was hoping that I would get by quicker.
So, that's enough for my brainf*%ts during that race.
At least race 2 was really good. Got an excellent start and managed to move into first position and stay there for 7 laps. Couldn't keep mutantracing behind me when I went very slighty wide in the infield and lost a little momentum. Then Tubbi came up real quick and when he made his pass I misshifted straight from 2nd to 4th, so had no chance of defending. A nice third place to start the series with.
Tubbi, mutantracing, Cowboy and myself then did 5 laps at Sebring.... Tubbi doing 1:26.6, myself a 1:28.7. So the car needs some work for that track... First thing is to change the rear wing to something with less drag!
