C 200Hp/2200 Lb @ TORA?
I was building and testing various cars for the "next" TORA Friday Series, and got to thinking...
... why not use our "Club" C Class sub200HP over-2200 Lb cars for it? Call it Clubman C Cup.
So, I got to counting cars that I had built, 40... and went to the showroom to see what else could be built to those specs... and now I have 90 cars built to spec.
That my friends is one helluva carlist, and I don't have much DLC on my console.
Rules are simple,
No Forza /adjustable Aero.
No Lancia 037.
Race Rollcage Mandatory.
Any and all other upgrades optional.
And to maximize variety on the grid, I am thinking one entry per car, so once a car is picked, nobody else can pick that car, with a list of already picked cars on the entry thread.
Thoughts???

Re: C 200Hp/2200 Lb @ TORA?
Format: Qualifying, 3 races per meet, on three different variants of each track...
Camino (Mini, Club, Full ... no Extreme though)
Motegi (West, East, Oval)
Iberian (Mini, Club, Full)
Nurburgring (GP Short, GP Full, and Nordschlieffe)
This would be the most variety of circuits of almost any series, hit tracks not usually seen on TORA, and hopefully provide a balance of grip, acceleration and top speed... so that more cars would be competitive throughout the series.

I'm up for that, I've already got a few built and I think I shared some in the club garage.
I see myself in something from the 50s/60s (insert dodgy photo of someone in a leather flight jacket and goggles here )

Driving in heavy rains today made me rethink things a bit... might have to trade out Nurburgring for a trip to a damp Top Gear Airfield.
TG East Loop, West Loop and Outer Loop with progressively less grip.
Nice wide airstrips could make for some interesting passing opportunities, and the track getting a bit wetter each race would just enhance the fun factor.

Don't you dare get rid of the classic British cars, some of which I shared in the club garage, they're my secret weapons that I was hoping most people would write off without even trying them!!

There are a few really good cars eligible, but some of the dominators (i.e. Porsche 550, Alfa Guilia and Lotus Elan) cannot meet minimum weight no matter how much you try to ballast them up. The Mustang Cobra II, Toyota Celica '03 and '94 Civic are pretty good, but can be beat with a MX5 or RX7 Savanna on some circuits.
The track list will keep things in check.

Re: C 200Hp/2200 Lb @ TORA?
The Spark, Aygo, etc that run the lobbies are usually storebought tunes, and those tunes will be either underweight or overpowered for this series. With these specs, it takes away what it takes for those cars to work so well.

I had been leaning towards the Scion FR-S. It is the fastest car on the oval, by a lot. But it seems to be pretty bad most everywhere else.
That being said, an easy win on the oval may be my best bet.

Maybe its because I was trying the pure speed oval build on Camino... I may enter it anyway.
Only if it still available come Sunday, as I am not entering until at least 24 hours after registration opens.

I was thinking about it, but if no one else gets it, go for it, it's an awesome car!
I'll have to chose from the tone I have built already

I have found an unlikely speed demon in the Mazda ### #########. I have to wait 90 minutes before posting my entry.

Im thinking that the Honda civics will be hard to catch on the oval, as theyre ldrboard cars, that will be my worst track anyway with a best so far of 45.6!!!!

Re: C 200Hp/2200 Lb @ TORA?
I'm hitting low 44's in the Mazda, the best I got otherwise was 43.5s in the Scion and RX7 Savanna.
Thing is the MX5 is a couple seconds quicker most everywhere else compared to the two heavyweights.
