Re: Introduce Yourself
Most use controller I think, you can swap buttons so swapping clutch to one easier to press at same time as gears isnt hard its just I keep forgetting, lol

I mean you can swap what each button does so swap the bumper button to the a button in the game controls, its easy but I forget to press clutch button, lol

Re: Introduce Yourself
Thats ok, I change mine dependant on the car, faster the car more assists, lol, I even went auto in my indy races, and it worked for me so dont worry about what ppl say about assists you have to drivehow you feel best

Re: Introduce Yourself
yeah i normally love using automatic most of the time but thought cause everyone seems to be using manual alot these days and it seems faster than automatic that i would give it a go

Re: Introduce Yourself
It is faster but again it depends on by how much, for me its more crucial in slower cars as you can drag every last rev out before changing gear but in high speed cars its sometimes better to concentrate on other things rather than gear changes

Re: Introduce Yourself
When I figured out I was getting beat by manual w/clutch, I restart my career, using man/clutch from the beginning. Didn't take me more than a couple days to get it right.
And its much quicker, up to two seconds per lap.

Clutch looks hard to use I have to first learn manual before I try clutch

Re: Introduce Yourself
If you upshift with the B button, and downshift with the X button, set the clutch to the A button. Then every time you shift, hit both B/A or X/A simultaneously it works perfect, and is nowhere near as hard as you think.

Re: Introduce Yourself
Hi Lisa and welcome to the team!!
Like Mikey said if you go into the settings menu there's an option to switch the clutch and handbrake, so A becomes the clutch and the left bumper becomes the handbrake. Your thumb is naturally hovering over B or X anyway when your changing gear so it becomes second nature really quickly to press A at the same time and will make quite a difference to your lap times.

Sounds like you've won half the battle, keep practicing and you'll get the other half.
And remember to thank me when you find yourself a lobby higher than usual in the next VM race meet.
