EZT Vintage NASCAR Mondays 8PM US EDT

Seems these guys are putting up a series in American primetime starting on Monday May 19. 8 Eastern, 5 Pacific, 1AM BST

The cars: 1987 Regal GNX and 1970 Cougar.

Here's what I know: I have raced with the EZT guys in some of their previous series, in TASCAR and at VM. They are much like us, in that they favor sportsmanship and fair play over all else. Seems theur series is way short on entries, so I figured we could make it an interteam rivalry. Should be much like a TORA TCR event, casual, clean and well organized.

I already know which car Windcharger is picking, and have a good idea of Erebus' choice as well.

What would my choice be?

I assumed you'd run Ford Falcon XB's American cousin, the Mercury Cougar.

And nah, my mum and dad had a buick as their wedding car and since seeing photos I love it!

I just noticed the rules state you have to run each car three rounds. Interesting plot twist. I may have to copy that rule for JGTC 300 Series 2, which I think will have to happen this summer.

Okay, I did some testing this evening, and IMO the Buick is far better at Sunset, and a wee bit better at Motegi. The Cougar is the better car at Sedona, and they are equal at Indy. With the three race rule, I would take the Buick at both Sunsets and Motegi, and the Cougar at Indy and both Sedonas.

I'll send tunes to any Ax4x driver that wants to race this.

BTW, I worked on the Merc for an hour just to see 47.4s at Sunset, the Buick got a 47.0 within three laps.

Bradley, for the first round at Sunset, would you mind running the Buick livery that I have yet to send you? Its based off a real life NASCAR livery that I designed for Elliott Forbes Robinson way back when I was in school.

30+ years later, and it looks pretty sweet on a FM4 Regal, which is what I designed it for in teh first place.
