TCR ideas
Here is a great spot to run past our members any TCR ideas before they go to application. The idea here is to go into TCR App with a great shot at approval... so there is a good chance that your initial idea would see some suggested changes, but mostly for the purpose of getting it approved at TORA.
One thing to keep in mind is Thursday would be a prime day to get approval for.

Re: TCR ideas
I remember what you had in mind for that, and my biggest concern was the amount of different cars all at different PI.
My suggestion is to whittle that down to the five-eight most relevant models, and use a set PI, with standard HP/weight limits for all.
I really think that if it was simplified to TORA standards, it would be a win for you mate. There has been an underlying murmur calling for a vintage touring series, and that would fit the bill.

Re: TCR ideas
Old Fashioned DTM. With the Alfa Romeo 155, Ford Serria Cosworth, BMW and Mercedes. All the cars are late 80's early 90's and have RWD Conversions. I say 400 hp max with The Alfa running the Alfa Race Splitter and wing and the Mercedes only needs the Forza front aero. Now the BMW and Ford need both Forza Aero kits. Reason I suggest this is because I had an idea for a starter series for my DTM League called the DTM Lites.

if it's any consolation, all the cars are balanced, VM use them in their classics series which is really well balancedFlyin Mikey J wrote:I remember what you had in mind for that, and my biggest concern was the amount of different cars all at different PI.

Re: TCR ideas
Windcharger, if you add in the early Skyline and Lotus Carlton (same as Holden Commodore of that era) I think you'd have what would work for Erebus' 1992 Australian Touring Cars idea.
Erebus, the balancing-via-different PI is the VM way... and other than GT, I haven't seen that done much at TORA. Not saying it isn't proper, just seems a bit "complicated" to some.
Both of your ideas are so close in concept that smashing them together into one would be great.

Re: TCR ideas
Are there TCR series with DLC cars?
I was thinking of a 'green' thing. The Tesla Roadster?

Re: TCR ideas
JRacer, I had thought that too, and have built a Tesla Spec Car. They try not to do DLC Spec Cups, but the Tesla was a free car so I think its possible.
The torque curve on it is astounding

Re: TCR ideas
Darren, you know that 'new' racing site we were talking about... I think Sport Classics and Vintage Trans Am may well pop up over there straight off
Only thing is, would Mondays work? Thought is Sport Classics at 8PM BST, Trans Am 9PM US Eastern

Re: TCR ideas
My parents are divorced and annoyingly at the moment I'm not allowed to decide where I am and when. My parents decide that. I only have an Xbox at my mums so if I'm at my dads I can't race which is Monday, Wednesday, Friday and during the day Saturday. It seems really stupid but that's just how it is.

I thought it would have been the other way round to be honest shocked your dad doesn't have a xbox for you to use.
You get to choose when your 16 right?

Re: TCR ideas
Yeah well most likely. It's a real pain when I want to race but I can't. I have my old Xbox at my dads but it's pretty broken.

I received zero response about the idea of hosting the club racing here on our Ax4x forums... I know that I'd have a hard time making any events myself no matter what day, but after some thought, I think Thursday would be best, as BBC's Top Gear is on Mondays at the time we were thinking. If there is one TV program that could interfere with race night it would be TG.
My second thought is for our first series, do Sport Classics at 8PM BST, Trans Am at 9PM US Eastern time. These were two very popular series, and intentionally aimed at the British market with Sport Classics and US with Trans Am.
Now I just need our hosting staff to sign onto this, and I'll get the ball rolling with setting up a "Ax4x Racing Series" section of the forum, some advertisement posters, and a schedule.

Re: TCR ideas
Trying to get my Friday spot back by promoting Smithy's FM5 classic TCCs to Tuesdays.
I know Warspite wants other ideas used, in my timeslot, but I think I can get the rest of the staff's backing.

Re: TCR ideas
How come people (HCR CRA) can post in the other sites tcr section and 2 weeks later
BAM have a series
I do it and get shot down and told to fill out the tcr form, I fill it out and months later, nothing
Hierarchy much

Re: TCR ideas
So would I. I suggested having it in the first half the year then TASCAR the second
But it'll never happen

Re: TCR ideas
Jordan did his with the Acura on Monday nights but had to cancel it due to only having a couple of people turning up.

Re: TCR ideas
What bugs me most along with this is that if you ask to have a series on a Tuesday for example when nothing else is on they'll turn round and say "you can't have that because it's a TORA race night". TORA is a load of bullshit at the moment.ErebusV8 wrote:How come people (HCR CRA) can post in the other sites tcr section and 2 weeks later
