TORA GP Classics Empty TORA GP Classics

Post by KaneGR4 Fri Jan 10, 2014 9:36 pm

MSA TORA GP Classics has been announced. Most likely to take place on a Sunday night at 20:00 GMT. Now this is a series I am looking forward to, these cars are mega fun to drive. Anyone up for this? We could put a couple of teams in. A Series is so much better when the cars are decent.

Mikey, could this be moved into the TORA Series area under it's own section? Only mods can create sections I believe.

If I can get the money together in time to buy one of these machines, I'd be happy to get in a team with somebody? The Car above looks fantastic.

The series has hit a bit of a snag, it turns out the Ferrari is quite a bit quicker than the McLaren, and they can't be balanced due to lack of upgrades available. Duncan was thinking about doing half a season with the McLaren & the rest of the season in the Ferrari, the downside being people would need to buy both cars.

that's what I was thinking^
swapping cars half way is a bit of a burden for people who can only afford one
just do a 'spec cup' with Ferrari season 1, McLaren season 2, but spec cup being full tuning etc

If they run this as two different seasons or making people change in the middle is just daft! If they are going off how the movie went, they should let everyone chose which car to stick with and stay that way. The cars are expensive enough as it is without having everyone having to buy both.

I think they should just make it a Spec Cup of sorts. Use the McLaren (James Hunt FTW!), create a specific build, allow tuning. If another GP Classic season comes about then switch to the Ferrari.

Yeah I'd be happy with either, probably would be easier if they stuck with one throughout a series though..

Duncan has confirmed today they will be running a one car series for this. Have asked the obvious question of 'well which one?' but doubt I will hear anything until they are good and ready.

Hmm, can't they give one car some upgrades and then apply a grip/power penalty to equal things? Like they did with the Viper and Z4 in the EGT series? I don't have FM5, so don't know what would be possible.

dont think there are really any upgrades apart from brakes, but they wont bring the McClaren upto pace (the gap is around 2 seconds per lap it seems).

Got my car sorted. Put some pics up on TORA for anybody who may be interested.

Think they are going for a replica feel as they are allowing shared paints from storefront to be used.

I might need to run privateer for this, as Sundays are getting increasingly more difficult for me to make.
