I'm hoping to run a Mk2 Golf championship as a TORA TCR series. I made a post about it here.

The biggest hurdle is "when" to run it, as the weeks are pretty full at this time.

The other issue is that there is the current Spec Series that tends to be B-to-low-A class.

On the positive, spec racing is pretty popular at TORA these days.

BTW, that VW Beetle with the odd PI in the garage: that is my build for a Beetle Cup Spec Series that hasn't happened yet. I'm not sure why it never happened, as its a solid build, the right PI, and is based on the real world VW spec series from a few years back.

Yeah It's quite difficult. It could alternate with TASCAR but that is already taken by Bandits DTM series. If TORA staff allow it could maybe alternate with TCC. It all depends if there is enough interest. I probably wouldn't have posted about this if I was able to do the spec series but the time doesn't suit me.

Tuesdays are reserved for "Official" TORA Series, as are Sundays, and evidently Wednesdays as well.

No joke. I built and refined the build on that a while ago, but the idea didn't recieve much response so it got pushed aside for Trans Am/IROC/Can Am, and now most likely Aussie TCC 1992.

I still say its a solid build for a spec series car though. Sport almost everything, proper 'factory' body kit, and a nice balance of power to grip. About as good as the Spec Minis that we raced in Winter Heat.

Never got to race that Mini. I thought Mini Mayhem was going to use that build/tune. I certain would like to do a VW spec series Golf or Beetle.

VTCC are doing a spec series with the Mk2 Golf on Fridays at 8pm. Of course it doesn't suite me so I can't do it Sad
