24 Hours of Nurburgring

Post by Flyin Mikey J on Mon Sep 16, 2013 8:36 am

The final event of the 2013 TEC Season is next on the calendar.

The car list and build rules will be the same as Silverstone, TCC and GTE. And to collect points, teams must use the same car as they did at Silverstone as well.

Ran 2.5 laps in the Insignia... Oh Dear. The car feels very heavy, down on power and lumbers through the corners. My TCC Focus ghost was destroying me. Ended up with a dirty lap time of 8:31.781.

Poorly worded. But it feels very sluggish, lacks that certain oomf. I don't get on well in RWD Touring cars Embarassed

Darren, the collective Ax4x/Hailfire Racing/Prestige Worldwide teams will be fielding 4 or 5 cars for the Ring. I am 99.999999% positive that you will have a ride for this.

We ran two TCC Insignias, a TCC Lexus and a GTE Ford at Silverstone, and as far as I know, all four will be run at the Ring.

I would much rather be in the Lexus or Ford GT. But will go where ever I'm needed.

Kilroy, I could really use your help getting the GT's Nurb stints sorted. I didn't want to race GTE at Silverstone, but stepped in because I had to.

I'll probably field a GTE Ferrari or Viper. Maybe possibly find a way to match the XPR Vipers. Razz

Must remind you Mikey, this is all dependant upon my holiday booking form being approved at work. If it is, for some reason, declined then I'll only be able to take one day, either Saturday or Sunday off as 'sick'.

If I get both days off then I'll be able to run any stint in any car. Your avatar is also hilarious.

Decisions, Decisions.

I think I'm in love....... with a Viper affraid .

For me it's slightly slower than the vette- 1.5 secs- But is thoroughly enjoyable to drive, could I drive the full 24h in it? Laughing

If there weren't a limit on stinting, I would probably also drive it a full 24 hours. lol!

Any update on this recently? I know it's still 8 weeks away, but I think we should start getting people into cars.

Well, that kinda sucks, as the Allied Forces car is 15th in points with a realistic shot at the top ten. But I have to put DTech in the Hailfire car as it is tenth in points. Problem is I doubt anyone will want to race the TCC Vauxhalls.

I would drive the insignia, however I race in cockpit view and the seating position in that car is so low I can't even imagine driving for 6hrs +, sorry mikey
